Chelsea's Raheem Sterling vows to keep 'striving' in his bid to reclaim England place, after being absent from Gareth Southgate's recent squads

Raheem Sterling has vowed to keep striving for his place in the England squad, despite being absent from Gareth Southgate's plans again this month.

The Chelsea star was missing from the England squad to face Australia and Italy, following on from Southgate's admission that Sterling was 'not happy' to be left out of the previous camp in September.

The 28-year-old, who has 82 England caps and 20 goals for his country, has vowed to fight to get his place back before Euro 2024.

Sterling told The Guardian: 'Of course, England is still very important for me.
