Chelsea have signed United States international Matt Miazga to a new contract, sent him on a season-long loan to Nantes and gave them the option to make the deal permanent next summer.
Miazga, 23, went on loan to Vitesse Arnhem each of the last two seasons, making 72 appearances in all competitions and helping them win the Dutch Cup for the first time in 2017.
The defender, who signed a contract through the 2021-22 season, left the New York Red Bulls for Chelsea in January 2016.
