Chelsea have reportedly halted their chase of Sporting midfielder Manuel Ugarte after being outbid by Paris Saint-Germain.
The Blues were previously willing to bid over the Uruguay international's £52 million release clause, but now appear to have been knocked out of the race.
At just 22, Ugarte has already become a key player for Sporting and been a regular for the past two seasons.
He made his Uruguay debut in 2021 and was named in the Uruguayan Primera Division's team of the season while still a teenager at Fenix in 2019.
