Chelsea part company with their head groundsman - and his assistant son - after 30 years working for them... but club refuse to reveal reasons behind Todd Boehly's latest staffing overhaul

Chelsea have parted company with long-serving head groundsman Jason Griffin plus his assistant and son Reisse.

In a continuation of the major overhauling of staff that has taken place since Chelsea’s takeover last May, the Griffin duo have become the latest employees to depart after a number of years at the club.

Griffin has been at Chelsea for over 30 years. He became head groundsman in 2003 and led a team that included Reisse, who had held the assistant grounds manager position, and ran into double figures.

They were responsible for looking after the club’s playing surfaces and grounds at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s Cobham training ground and Kingsmeadow where their women’s and youth team sides play, earning industry acknowledgement for some of their work along the way.
