Chelsea owners respond to criticism of how they entered the dressing room to criticise players for 'embarrassing' results, which infuriated one singled-out star

TalkSPORT host Jim White has revealed that Chelsea's owners have defended the dressing-down they gave to players after their 2-1 defeat to Brighton.

As previously reported by Mail Sport, Todd Boehly told Chelsea's stars their season was 'embarrassing' as he delivered a speech following Frank Lampard's post-match team talk which left one player 'disillusioned' after being 'singled out'.

Lampard, who has suffered three straight defeats since returning to Stamford Bridge as caretaker boss, must now try to lift morale for tonight's defining Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

As well as expressing his disappointment at Chelsea's season, Boehly tried to lift Lampard's players ahead of their quarter-final second leg, in which the Blues will have to overturn a 2-0 deficit.
