Chelsea legend Pat Nevin 'is dropped from club media duties without explanation' from Clearlake Capital-Todd Boehly owners - with website columnist told decision was taken from 'higher up'

Chelsea icon Pat Nevin has been removed from his role as part of the club's media team, without receiving any reason, according to reports.

Nevin made 242 appearances for the Blues during his five-year stint in west London, scoring 36 league goals, before moving to Everton, Tranmere Rovers, Kilmarnock, and Motherwell retiring in 2000.

However the Scot had always remained close to Chelsea, and had taken up a media role with his former employers, operating as a columnist both online and in matchday programmes.

In addition to his written analysis, he had also worked as a co-commentator for Chelsea media, although it is thought that he will also be stopping his work in this role too.
