Chelsea 'do not want to replace Frank Lampard with an interim manager' and club chiefs willing to wait until their preferred options are ready to take over amid links to Massimiliano Allegri, Thomas Tuchel and Julian Nagelsmann

Chelsea will not appoint an interim manager to take over if Roman Abramovich decides to sack Frank Lampard in the coming weeks.

The club legend is fighting for his job at Stamford Bridge after defeat at Leicester on Tuesday night continued their poor form and left the Blues in eighth place in the Premier League.

Their disappointing recent form, defeat at Leicester was their fifth loss in eight league matches, comes on the back of a mammoth summer spend of £230million that was expected to see them challenge for the title.
