Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile could be out for FOUR MONTHS after picking up a groin injury in training, with Levi Colwill likely to replace the Frenchman in Mauricio Pochettino's plans at the start of next season

Benoit Badiashile could miss the start of the next season following the groin injury he suffered in training last week.

Defender Badiashile has been assessed by specialists amid concerns surgery may be required to resolve the issue with the injury thought to be more serious than initially expected.

Chelsea have yet to confirm the full extent of Badiashile's injury and estimated time on the sidelines though the feared recovery period of up to four months could see the Frenchman miss the start of incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino's reign.

Following tests on the 22 year-old, Chelsea's medical staff were in talks over the best course of action for Badiashile and whether he would need to have an operation.
