Chelsea consider firing a THIRD bid for defender Wesley Fofana despite Leicester's reluctance to sell for less than £80m... as the Foxes continue to listen to offers for James Maddison, Youri Tielemans and Harvey Barnes

Chelsea are weighing up a third bid for Wesley Fofana this week despite Leicester’s reluctance to consider selling their star defender.

The Blues have already submitted two bids for Fofana, with the second thought to be worth about £65million.

Leicester say publicly that the 21-year-old is not for sale but an offer in excess of £80m – which would be a world-record fee for a defender – would give them a decision to make.

Leicester accept privately that Fofana will not be with them for the long term but their preference is for him to spend one more season at King Power Stadium before departing next summer.
