'Captain Forever': Italian newspapers call Gianluca Vialli a 'role model for everyone' as they pay tribute to former Juventus and Chelsea striker following his untimely death from cancer aged 58

Italian newspapers have reacted to the death of former Juventus and Chelsea star Gianluca Vialli on Friday aged 58 following a battle with cancer.

La Stampa led tributes to the former Juventus skipper, calling him 'Captain forever' and referring to him as a 'role model for everyone.'

Meanwhile La Gazzetta dello Sport called Vialli a 'one of the most loved [footballers] ever' and paid tribute to him alongside the other recent passings in the sport: 'The world of football still in mourning. After the death of Sinisa Mihajlovic, of Pele, another great champion, Gianluca Vialli, passed away today in London.
