Callum Hudson-Odoi and Fikayo Tomori tell Chelsea they misunderstood London's Tier 2 lockdown rules after leaked Snapchat footage showed them flouting coronavirus rules last month

England and Chelsea players Callum Hudson-Odoi and Fikayo Tomari have explained to Chelsea that they misunderstood London’s Tier 2 lockdown rules last month when dined out together.

Footage was leaked to the Daily Star from Hudson-Odoi’s private Snapchat account in which he had posted a video of the pair at a restaurant at a time when the rules stated that separate households could only meet outside but prior to the national lockdown, which started this month.

Because Hudson-Odoi and Tomori are part of an elite sporting bubble at Chelsea, they thought that meant they were able still to socialise together.
