Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged by the Football Association for failing a doping test with the Ukrainian now facing up to a four-year ban.
The 24-year-old, who was signed from Shakhtar Donetsk for £89million in 2023, has been temporarily suspended since news broke last year that he had provided a positive sample believed to contain the performance-enhancing drug meldonium.
The FA have now confirmed that they have slapped Mudryk with a charge, saying in a statement: ‘We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, in terms of Regulations 3 and 4 of The FA’s Anti-Doping Regulations.
