Advisor to Roman Abramovich's sale of Chelsea insists the process 'won't be rushed' as the Russian 'turns down £2.5billion takeover bid' as he aims to secure the right price and find the 'best steward' to take the club forward

An advisor to Roman Abramovich's sale of Chelsea has stated the process won't be rushed.

Joe Ravitch, the co-founder of investment bank Raine Group LLC, has been asked by the Russian oligarch to help find a buyer for the club.

The move follows Russia's invasion of Ukraine that has triggered an international backlash against businessmen with close ties to President Vladimir Putin.

Abramovich, has slapped a £3billion asking price on the club which he bought back in 2003.

He has instructed his aides to set up a charitable foundation that will receive all net proceeds from the sale for the benefit of victims from the war in Ukraine.
