Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports and The Vertical has reported that the Charlotte Hornets have traded the 22nd overall pick in this year’s draft to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Marco Belinelli. It was rumored that the team was looking to deal their first round pick in this year’s draft. They also targeted Belinelli last offseason in free agency before he signed with Sacramento.
Charlotte only held one pick in this year’s NBA Draft but with the trade, they will not have a pick this season. This was the first year since 2001 that the team was going to select outside of the lottery.
