Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports and The Vertical has reported that the Charlotte Hornets and Nicolas Batum have “reached agreement on a five-year, $120 million deal.” This deal went down just a few short hours after the NBA’s free agency period began on July 1st. The two sides wanted to get a deal done and the Hornets have Batum the big deal that he was searching for.
The fifth year of Batum’s contract will be a player option as he has the ability to opt-out if he decides to do so. This was one of the first deals struck during free agency this year as Charlotte made sure that they got their guy.
