The Charlotte Hornets Extend Qualifying Offer to Troy Daniels

The Charlotte Hornets have announced that they are extending a qualifying offer to shooting guard, Troy Daniels, making him a restricted free agent this summer. The qualifying offer is worth $1.2 million for next season. Free agency is set to begin on July 1st and the team will have the chance to match any deal that Daniels’ signs with another team, if he does.

The team’s website says that “Charlotte owns the right to match any offer sheet he may sign with another team.” If they would not have extended a qualifying offer, then he would have become an unrestricted free agent, free to sign with any team.
