David Aldridge of NBA.com has reported that the Charlotte Hornets are “working on Mahinmi.” Aldridge also reported that the Washington Wizards, the San Antonia Spurs, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Dallas Mavericks, the Portland Trailblazers, and the Orlando Magic are also working to sign Ian. He will not be returning to the Indiana Pacers after the team signed Al Jefferson.
The Hornets will be facing some steep competition in their pursuit of Mahinmi as they are looking to add another big man to their roster. The team let Big Al walk in free agency and they are now looking to sign a center who can replace his spot.
