Desmond Bane's shooting prowess made the Memphis Grizzlies trade into the first round to draft him in 2020. It became another draft-day deal by the front office that paid off more than expected.
Bane was named to the NBA All-Rookie second team on Thursday after receiving nine first-team votes and 70 second-team votes. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard is the fourth Grizzlies player in the last three seasons honored as an All-Rookie selection.
The Boston Celtics drafted Bane out of TCU with the No. 30 overall pick then dealt him to the Grizzlies in a three-team trade.
