LAS VEGAS — Cooper Flagg sat between his teammates and coaches on the bench while the Dallas Mavericks faced his former Duke teammate Kon Knueppel and the rest of the Charlotte Hornets.
The Mavericks shut the No. 1 pick down for the remainder of the Las Vegas Summer League after his breakout performance two days prior, so Monday’s game served as an opportunity for the other members of the team to display their talents.
Two-way point guard Ryan Nembhard led with a team-high 11 points and eight assists, but the Mavericks suffered an 87-69 loss to the Hornets.
