The High Point big man averaged 19.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for the Panthers.
The Charlotte Hornets have signed High Point power forward John Brown to an NBA Summer League deal, according to the official site of the High Point University Panthers. The 6'8" big man averaged 19.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.6 steals per game for the Panthers in 2016. The Hornets worked Brown out prior to this year's NBA draft, though he did go undrafted.
At 24 years old, Brown offers the Hornets a veteran presence — as far as summer league is concerned, anyway — and if he plays well enough, he should have a legitimate shot at making the roster.
