At the top of the key with the clock winding down in a tie game, Gordon Hayward dribbled, waiting for the right moment. He wanted to give himself enough time to get a good shot off, while leaving no time for the Magic to answer.
He faked like right and then switched left giving himself a split second of extra time to go by Evan Fournier for the left-handed layup. Hayward shouted as the ball went through with less than a second on the clock to cap his 39-point effort and a Hornets victory.
On Jan. 3, 2017, when Hayward was still a member of the Jazz, the prospect of getting this Hayward was why Celtics fans cheered an opponent on the floor at TD Garden.
