Many feel that if the Los Angeles Lakers are to pull off a trade that will give them a starting-caliber center, or perhaps an athletic wing, they will have to give up promising rookie Dalton Knecht. After all, the team agreed to give him up to the Charlotte Hornets in February to get Mark Williams, only for that trade to be rescinded when Williams failed his physical.
But if Knecht sticks around, he has an excellent chance to be a useful player and get more playing time with the Lakers as soon as next season. He's known as a 3-point specialist, but he has also shown the ability to score from all three levels, move without the basketball and get out on the fast break.
