The Charlotte Hornets announced that they have officially waived Briante Weber. His contract for the 2017-18 season would’ve become fully guaranteed on August 1st. The team decided to release the point guard before the deadline and not take a cap hit.
Weber was originally signed to a 10-day contract by the Hornets on February 27th and then to a second 10-day deal on March 9th. He impressed the team enough to earn a partially guaranteed two-year deal.
During his time with Charlotte, Briante appeared in 13 games for the team. He averaged 3.
