According to Sean Deveney of Sporting News, the Charlotte Hornets and Toronto Raptors were in discussion over a trade involving Jonas Valanciunas on draft night. The NBA Insider added that trade talks “did not get very far.” The acquisition of Dwight Howard prior to the draft is probably why the Hornets weren’t interested in Valanciunas.
According to the report, the team north of the border offered Jonas to five different teams on draft night including Charlotte. The Sacramento Kings, the Phoenix Suns, the Portland Trail Blazers and the Atlanta Hawks were among the other four teams.
