It looked like the Charlotte Hornets were just inches away from landing a former All-Star player in Marc Gasol, but in the end, the Toronto Raptors swooped in with an offer and broke the hearts of many Hornets fans.
According to the great Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Grizzlies have agreed to trade Marc Gasol to the Raptors in exchange for Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, C.J. Miles and a 2024 second round draft pick.
Just two days ago, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Hornets were in “strong” talks with Memphis about acquiring Gasol.
