Charlotte Hornets: Fans want Kobe Bryant’s jersey number retired

On January 26th, 2020, the world was changed after the death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven other souls. Bryant was the Charlotte Hornets’ lottery-pick in the 1996 NBA Draft.

Following the news of Bryant’s death, the NBA community came together and mourned with one another. Fans and many athletes took to social media to express their thoughts and prayers for Bryants’ family.

On this horrific day, many teams around the league honored Kobe Bryant during their games. Team’s each took a 24-second shot-clock violation, while others took an eight-second backcourt violation

One NBA player, Trae Young, switched his jersey number to 8 to honor Kobe Bryant’s legacy.
