Player ratings are always a hot topic for debate, as any attempt to reduce a player's contributions to a single number are futile. As far as we've come in measuring statistics and developing complex formulas and algorithms to quantify and predict a player's contributions, we're still very, very far from such a minimalist approach accurately representing what a player is worth.
