He had some really good years in Portland, and a good start in Charlotte, but over the past couple of years, Nicolas Batum has become enemy number one in many Charlotte Hornets fans eyes. After landing a five-year, $120 million deal back in 2016, Batum’s production has steadily declined.
Before we get too far into this, I want to make one thing clear. I think Nicolas Batum is a very good player. Yeah, he hasn’t lived up to that hefty contract, but just because he’s had a few down seasons doesn’t make him a trash can.
