MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Charlotte kicked the first day of the Conference USA Outdoor Championships off with senior Robert Yardley having a personal-record day in the decathlon for the 49ers as he totaled five personal-best marks on the day.
Yardley started out placing third in the 100m with a personal best time of 11.14 to claim 830 points. He then finished fourth in the second event of the decathlon after posting a new personal record long jump of 6.84m (22'-5.25") for another 776 points. Following the long jump, Yardley was fifth overall in the shot put event, where he recorded a throw of 11.
