IRVING, Texas – Charlotte women's soccer learned of its opponent and seed for the upcoming Conference USA Championships Sunday evening, after regular-season action from other games around the league concluded.
The 49ers will play host to the tournament and enter as the No. 6 seed in the eight-team field. Charlotte will square off against WKU, the No. 3 seed, in the final quarterfinal Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Transamerica Field.
The two programs did not meet during the regular season and have clashed only twice with each winning as visitors in the matchups. The Niners opened the series in 2014 with a 3-0 triumph before the Lady Toppers countered with a 3-1 victory in the Queen City last fall.
