Early one morning, Charlotte women's soccer players were lacing up for a full day of work.
They weren't gearing up for practice, however. Instead, the group was preparing for its day helping with the World Down Syndrome Day Carnival put on by Elevation Church. Charlotte's women's soccer team sent 10 members to help set up carnival games, food stations and a bouncy house.
Working alongside their teammates off the pitch offered the group an opportunity to strengthen bonds.
"I think just being out here and helping with the team, it just grows the trust and strength between the team.
