CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Tackling their first day consisting of 36 holes in program history, the Charlotte 49ers finished round one in fourth before closing out the day in third place at the 2017 Mary Fossum Invitational. A pair of team rounds of 303 and 301 have the Niners just four back of second heading into Sunday's final round.
Ashley Fowler and Siarra Stout both posted opening round 74's to lead the 49ers at two-over. Fowler started one-over on the front after a bogey on two, slipped to two-over after a bogey on the par three 12th before a birdie on 13 sliced it back down to one.
