IRVING, Texas - After another stellar weekend for the Charlotte softball team, junior Haley Wiseman has been named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Wiseman tossed her first career perfect game in an 11-0 victory over Robert Morris on Friday, striking out eight over 5.0 innings. She joins Sherry Olekson (1998), Brooks Bower (1997) and Wendy Stratton (1990) as the only 49ers to throw a perfect game in program history.
The Winter Haven, Fla. native led the Niners to a 4-1 record this weekend, including the Green & White Invitational title after going a perfect 3-0 in three starts.
