Wire-to-Wire Victory Extends Win Streak to Four

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte women's basketball jumped out to a 9-0 start and never looked back, as it knocked off UTEP 62-53 in the first of two games between the Conference USA programs inside Halton Arena this weekend.

The 49ers gained control of the contest from the onset, netting the first-nine points and forcing the Miners into an early timeout at 6:59. Freshman Jacee Busick had four points during the stretch, while senior Octavia Jett-Wilson, the Feb. 16 ESPN.com National Player of the Week, had an old-fashioned three-point play.
