CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A career-high 20 kills from Janell Sparks and an emphatic solo block by Kaylyn Torain in the fifth set gave Charlotte a thrilling 3-2 (25-14, 22-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-13) victory over crosstown rival Davidson on Tuesday night. The win becomes the 49ers seventh-straight which sets a new school-record for most consecutive wins in the rally scoring era.
"These are my five-game maniacs," laughed Head Coach Karen Weatherington. "That's all I keep calling them. Kaylyn Torain really led the team and has been all year as captain, she was a huge difference maker tonight.
