The Charlotte 49ers have announced that the 2019 football season opener vs. Gardner-Webb has been moved to Thursday, Aug. 29 at Jerry Richardson Stadium.
"This will be a great start to the college football season and the Labor Day weekend," said 49ers' first-year head coach Will Healy. "It is really important for us to create a great home field environment and make this a tough place to play and we're calling on our students and fans to make this a rowdy home opener against a very good in-state opponent."
"We're excited to highlight the debut of the Will Healy era with this special Thursday night kickoff," said 49ers Director of Athletics Mike Hill.
