CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the fifth-straight year, the Charlotte 49ers volleyball team has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) team academic award for the 2018-19 season. The award honors teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining at-least a 3.30 cumulative GPA.
Charlotte was one of 189 teams across the country in division one to earn the honor and just one of 23 who were also recognized for exceeding their Dig Pink fundraising goal through the Side-Out Foundation.
The 49ers will embark on the 2019 season August 30-31 hosting the Charlotte Invitational during its annual opening weekend tournament.
