HOUSTON, Texas – Steven Veselinovic claimed Charlotte track and field's first gold medal of the 2018 Conference USA Outdoor Championships Friday at the Wendel D. Ley Track, hosted by Rice University.
Veselinovic won the hammer throw event for the third consecutive year with a distance of 65.77 meters (215' 9'').
Justin Hollis and Nathan Jeffers placed fourth and fifth in the men's decathlon. Hollis tallied 6564 points, while Jeffers finished with 6476.
The 10,000m was the first running events contested at the meet and Katie Tomasi took home silver with a time of 36 minutes, 51.
