CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte volleyball will take a season-high three-game win streak to upstate New York this weekend playing in the Canisius Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The nation's best blocking team once again proved why on Wednesday night in a 3-0 sweep of USC Upstate extending that streak to three.
Charlotte (6-3) tied a school-record with 22 block assists in the three-set match while senior Tatyana Thomas started her reign as Conference USA's Defensive Player of the Week crushing the high mark of seven block assists posting 10 in the sweep. The Niners rallied back for a 25-13 win in the opening set before scoring back-to-back 25-16 victories to finish off their third sweep of the year.
