BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Charlotte volleyball opened up road play in Conference USA with a 3-1 (25-19, 25-16, 26-28, 25-21) victory at UAB on Friday night. The win pushes the Niners to a perfect 5-0 in true road matches this season.
Charlotte (15-4, 2-1 C-USA) created a first set lead from a 10-10 tie after a pair of Blazer errors and a kill from Sydney Rowan. After the ensuing UAB timeout, a Katria Stewart kill and ace from Mackenzie Reaume bumped it to 17-13. A Kaylyn Torain kill at 19-15 forced UAB to take their final timeout before a trio of Janell Sparks kills, including the final one on set point, clinched the 25-19 opener.
