CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte volleyball fought to the end in another close match, but couldn't get the breaks needed in a 3-1 (28-26, 24-26, 16-25, 28-30) loss to Rice in Conference USA volleyball action on Sunday afternoon. Yumi Garcia moved to third all-time on the single-season digs list after a match-high 28 against the Owls.
"When we find ourselves on this side of the game and did what we needed to do to win, it's really hard to be upset," began Head Coach Karen Weatherington. "No one ever likes losing, but we're gaining so much in the process.
