CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte volleyball wrapped up opening weekend of the 2017 season play as much as anyone in the nation dropping a pair of five-setters to Belmont and Elon on Saturday. Charlotte took the first two against Belmont 25-12 and 25-20 before the Bruins claimed a 15-8 win in the fifth to complete their rally. Elon fought off two furious rallies by Charlotte, including a 25-11 defeat in the fourth, to hang on 15-11 in the fifth. For their efforts this weekend, Sydney Rowan and Yumi Garcia were both named to the all-tournament team.
