SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Bailey Vannoy tied the individual school doubles record set by Yolanda Stevens in 1996, but the Charlotte 49ers (27-15) dropped both games of the doubleheader to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (28-12) by scores of 0-3 and 6-11 on Saturday afternoon at Melissa Cook Stadium.
Game One: Charlotte - 0, Notre Dame - 3
The 49ers held the Fighting Irish to just three runs in the game, but lost 3-0 in the first matchup of the day. Notre Dame got out to an early lead after scoring two in the bottom of the first inning after a 49ers' throwing error and a single through the right side.
