BOCA RATON, Fla. - Bailey Vannoy smashed her ninth home run of the season to propel the Charlotte 49ers (19-8, 4-1 C-USA) to a series opener victory, 5-4, against the Florida Atlantic Owls (7-21, 2-3 C-USA) at the FAU Softball Stadium on Friday night.
Vannoy was the lone Niner to record a multi-RBI game as she brought in a couple of runs. Three 49ers also tallied a multi-hit game - Kourtney Gremillion was 2-for-3 with her team-leading third triple of the season, Lindsey Walljasper went 2-for-3 with a run scored and Cori Henderson was 2-for-3 with a run and RBI.
