USM Uses 15 Hits Again to Knock Off Baseball 9-1

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the second-straight day, Southern Miss cranked out 15 hits rolling to a 9-1 victory over Charlotte in Conference USA baseball action on Saturday afternoon. The 49ers had several opportunities early on, but saw three of the first six outs be recorded on the base paths.

Southern Miss (21-7, 7-1 C-USA) opened up scoring in the top of the first using three-straight base hits while a double play ball grounded into by Taylor Braley scored Dylan Burdeaux with the first USM run. In the fifth, Chase Scott led off with a solo home run to left center before a Jake Sandlin ground out and RBI double by Tim Lynch capped off their three-run inning extending the lead out to four.
