Charlotte 49ers five-time NCAA All-American Trey McRae (Laurinburg, N.C./Scotland H.S.) finished fifth in the high jump at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
“I gave it my all and left everything out there,” McRae said. “It has been amazing to be among the best high jumpers in the United States. I appreciate all the support from the University, Niner Nation, and my hometown this season and during my career.”
In Sunday’s finals, he was one of six high jumpers to successfully clear 2.26 (7-1) on their first attempt. He was successful on his second attempt at 2.
