Training Camp Confidential: The 49ers have high expectations for the tight end position, starting with seniors RJ Tyler and Chris Phillips. Tyler is the returning starter who was fourth on the team with 17 catches for 142 yards and one touchdown. Phillips got plenty of experience, playing in all 12 games with three catches for 26 yards. Returning sophomore Ryan Carriere will be joined by first-year sophomore Moss Saccomanno, who transferred from Dodge City Community College. Ryan Eachus battled injury in 2017 while signee Jacob Hunt is prepared to make an impact as a true freshman.
