The position with the heaviest interest heading into camp is the quarterback position, where returning starter Hasaan Klugh and red-shirt freshman Chris Reynolds did battle in the spring and Miami transfer Evan Shirreffs joined the fray this summer.
Klugh has guided the 49ers to all four of their C-USA wins over the last two seasons, but competition for the 2018 starting role opened up in the spring. R-Fr.
