DURHAM, N.C. – Charlotte track and field continued its outdoor season this past weekend, competing in the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C., where 28 Niners finished in the Top Eight.
Friday was affected by rain much of the evening, but that didn’t stop freshman Stevan Veselinovic, who took the top prize in the men’s weight throw at 64.28m. The rookie has been on quite a roll, breaking a school record, a Serbian (his native country) Under 23 National Record, and now the Duke Invite meet record with his hurl.
Junior Ashleigh Handchen also picked up a win, taking first in the women’s 3,000m steeplechase.
