DALLAS – Three of Charlotte's fall athletic programs were named as Conference USA Sport Academic Award winners, as announced by the league office Wednesday. The teams earning the honor include men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball.

The three selections place the 49ers in a tie for second among their league peers for the Sport Academic Award, trailing only the six collected by Rice. Charlotte shared second place with UAB among the 17 sports announced, 16 in which the Niners field a squad.
The Sport Academic Award is given to the team in each conference-sponsored sport with the highest GPA for the academic year.
